Renate Rohlfing

Renate Rohlfing is an accompanist and chamber musician based in Brooklyn, NY. Recent performing highlights include residences with her piano trio, LONGLEASH, at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Festival in Norway and at Avaloch Farm in New Hampshire; concerts with LONGLEASH at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Center for Contemporary Music in San Francisco, and the Kunstuniversitaet in Graz, Austria; and recitals with soprano Julia Bullock in Washington, DC, New York, and Illinois. She has served as pianist in residence for the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, IL, and "The Song Continues" at Carnegie Hall, and has helped prepare opera productions at the Los Angeles Opera, Spoleto Festival, and The Juilliard School. As a champion of contemporary classical music, she has performed numerous world premieres with LONGLEASH, and was recently asked to prepare and accompany the workshop of Jake Heggie's newest opera, "Great Scott." Renate has performed the "Dichterliebe" song cycle with several different singers in her career, and is instrumental in both performing and preparing the music for POETLove. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Renate is an alumna of The Juilliard School.
